The way Iga went through the whole season. She maintained a high level throughout the year. There are several aspects of preparation in tennis. The three main ones are motor, technical-tactical and psychological. However, there are many more factors. Iga showed a very high level of each of the components.
During the season there were no serious recessions, and the matches predicted by soccer sure bets in which she lost can be called recessions. But there were few of them, and, in the end, the sport does not happen without failures. Everything else was at a level that previously could only be dreamed of.
This year, Iga managed not only to reach the peak of her form, but also to maintain it. It is easy to reach the peak - although for some, of course, it is unattainable. Twice or three times in a season it is easier to reach the peak of your form than to maintain this level. This is something amazing in modern tennis and in sports in general, where the intensity of the competition is very high.
Iga was able to realize her form on the court. And yet the conditions are different everywhere: balls, courts, weather, spectators. There are a lot of variables. Iga maintained performance by adapting to the conditions she faced, rather than trying - as female athletes often do, and it`s a trap - to adapt all conditions to what she herself wants.
I am also proud that we have formed an approach that implies that we are striving not for a decent result, but for victory, setting the bar as high as possible. We are doing our best, but whether it will work out is another question. We implemented this approach by consulting at the beginning of the year with Daria [Abramovich, psychologist].
